Who We Are
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and have a look at what we have to offer.
We strive to offer our clients the best our area has to offer. Whether it is Hereford seedstock, beef or eggs, we want our clients to know what they are getting and be satisfied with it.
We care about our animals. We believe in low-stress handling and work closely with our veterinary and nutrition teams to help us provide the best care for animals in our charge.
We also want to leave this little piece of ground better than when we got it so we are doing what we can to make sure that how we operate on it creates an environment that is diverse and healthy.
Kristan was raised on a mixed farm operation in southern Saskatchewan. He didn’t need much of an excuse to be on a horse and with cows while he was growing up. He left the short-grass prairies for the promise of opportunity in the BC Peace region not long after graduating and has lived in tall-grass country ever since doing everything from welding to driving truck to operating equipment. The wide variety of skills he’s gained from a childhood on the farm has made him versatile and open to new ideas. He was instrumental in introducing stock dogs to the operation and now we can’t imagine how we managed without them before. He also competes in local stock dog trials with “Coon” his faithful Border Collie.
Shannon came to the BC Peace as a girl and did most of her growing up in the area. She moved around a bit after graduating but always returned to the Peace. She has made the most of what Northern BC has to offer and has spent many long days in remote hunting and oilfield camps. Her experience working as a veterinary assistant been a valuable addition to the operation. She has a diverse range of interests but horses have been her biggest passion since childhood. She has spent countless hours honing her skills in a wide variety of disciplines and is a certified riding instructor.
We have been farming together in the Montney, BC area since 2008 and are proud to be carrying on the work of our grandfathers.
The coffee is always on and we are always happy to trade stories and show off our stock.
